There are plenty of opportunities around Magnolia, Texas. The Monroe County Animal Shelter is looking for volunteers who can walk and bathe dogs, care for cats, and consider fostering animals. SMART Animal Rescue looks for much of the same, including volunteers who can work with animals at events and encourage adoption. S.A.F.E. House is right in Magnolia and allows volunteers ages 12 and older to help at adoption events. The organization also needs volunteers to transport dogs to and from vet appointments. Looking for something a little more exotic? Friends of Texas Wildlife (FTW) completely relies on volunteers to do rehabilitative and administrative work. If you prefer to use professional skills rather than work one-on-one with animals, FTW is looking for those who can help with marketing, fundraising, and other tasks. Prospective rehab volunteers will be partnered with a trained, permitted rehabilitator while learning about wildlife rehabilitation.
